Australia podcast advertising benchmarks: Q2 2025

In a joint effort with the team at ARN (Australian Radio Network), we're excited for the release of our first Australia Quarterly Benchmark Report, covering Q2 2025. To prepare the report, we analyzed 10,087 episodes of popular Australian podcasts to uncover the behaviors, trends, and insights from Q2.

Some of our key findings this quarter include:

  • +20% Y/Y spend
    Australian podcast ad spending continued to climb in Q2, increasing 20% year-over-year
  • 5 of 10 repeat top-10 spenders
    Five of the top 10 spenders in Q2 were also top spenders in Q1
  • 82% Brand awareness
    Brand Awareness campaigns made up 82% of all detected ads in Australia during Q2
  • 7.53% average ad load
    Average advertiser ad load increased from 6.79% in Q1 to 7.53% in Q2
  • +72% ad spend in Phone/Internet/Cable
    Spend in the telecom industry increased 72%, with brands like Telstra, Aussie Broadband, and ALDImobile topping the list
  • $2.5M spend for Financial Services
    Spend in Financial Services topped all industries this quarter with brands like Westpac, CommBank, and Wise at the top.
